Initial response
Flashback's special retrospective of Initial Textile Services sparked a wealth of memories for former employees.
The former building in Harpers Lane, in Chorley, has been a magnet for firebugs and vandals in recent years since it closed and it is set to be partially demolished.
On July 1, we published a double page article about Chorley resident Bertrand Potts.
Mr Potts, 84, was the third generation of his family to run Chorley and District Hygienic, and is now hoping to produce a book about his memories.
Since the Guardian published the story we've been inundated with readers.
Anne Nolan, 70 from The Crescent, met her husband Jimmy while working at the laundry - and 47 years later the couple are still happily married.
Anne first worked on the presses and then as a charge hand during her 10 years there.
Her husband Jimmy, 71, worked as a garage mechanic until he was drafted into the Army at the age of 21.
She said: "We were all just like a big family there. We loved it. Absolutely loved it.
"Everyone got along great and loved working together. We've both had some very happy memories from that place.
"It was great remembering things from your article and we still bump into people in the street who we worked with at Initial and have a chat about the good old days."
She also fondly remembered the head chef from the canteen, mentioned in last week's article, who fed her husband Spam.
Asked about her secrets of a long and happy marriage Anne said: "The secret to it is to keep your own space and have your own interests."
Anne and Jimmy now have five children and nine grandchildren, who all live in the Chorley area.
