Who's on the other end of 60s tug?
A tug-of-war contest from the 1960s has sparked an unusual appeal to Flashback readers.
Doreen Baines, 74, of Glamis Road, Leyland, was having a rummage in some old boxes her son had brought down from the attic, and was overjoyed to find this picture.
It shows the Bay Horse tug-of-war, an annual event which took place on the old playing fields on Runshaw Lane, Euxton.
Mrs Baines said: "I think it was taken in the 1960s and there's lots of familiar faces on there.
"I'm sure lots of people will be able to recognise themselves."
Regulars and workers at the Euxton pub would take part in the grapple, including Doreen's husband, Alan.
She said: "I used to work as a barmaid at the Bay Horse, and my husband, Alan, was a waiter.
"We had to have a few jobs back then, so I also did some cleaning and Alan worked for Baines' removals."
Doreen knew most of the men on the photo, including Bobby Cooper, who was delighted to see it again.
She said: "I showed Bobby the photo when I saw him on the bus the other day.
"He was thrilled to bits to see it, because it holds so many warm memories."
The great-grandmother thinks of the happy times being in Euxton back in the 1960s.
She recalled: "There was never any trouble whatsoever. The only thing I can recall is a chap who used to go round stealing women's knickers off their washing lines!"
