Creative children looked to their musical and artistic talents to create a special exhibition at their school.
Chorley St James Primary School held the ‘Take One Picture’ art exhibit last week, in which youngsters focused on one painting to interpret into different forms.
This year, the chosen picture was ‘Springtime in Eskdale’ by the Scottish artist James Mckintosh Patrick, painted in 1935.
The painting shows people visiting a cottage, a farmer ploughing a field and a river.
Headteacher Clare Greenway said: “Each class studied the painting and chose one aspect to concentrate on.
“Work included a large tree made by the children in reception class; a musical piece by the children in years 1 and 2, and some very detailed drawing of leaves and trees by the junior children.”
She added: “Caroline Waring, one of our talented teaching assistants, is an amateur budding artist who inspires the children throughout school to take an interest in art and develop their creativity.”
