Council chiefs are making a fresh multi-million bid for funding to transform Worden Park.
South Ribble Council is applying for £2m Heritage Lottery funding to aid the redevelopment of the Grade II listed Worden Park in Leyland.

The council needs the cash to pay for restoring and repairing Worden Hall, moving the car park, and restoration of the formal gardens and walled garden.

Cash would also be used to rebuild changing facilities, replace the playground toilets and move the coffee shop into the rebuilt conservatory.

It's the second time that the council has bid for lottery cash.
A previous application in February 2007 for financial assistance was rejected by funding chiefs.

But since then, the council has spent £85,000 asking local people what they want to see from the historic park, which was once the seat of the Farrington family.
