Detectives in Leyland are appealing for up to 12 potential witnesses of an attempted armed robbery to come forward.
Police have released CCTV stills of the gun-wielding masked man who threatened Leyland cashier Sue Harris as Booze Brothers in Chapel Brow last week.

Det Con Tony Wilson said: "The images show the man gets the gun from under his jacket and points it at the shop assistant before running out of the shop.

"Footage from cameras in the area show a number of people walking down the street at the time.

"In particular we are appealing for an elderly couple who were walking hand in hand along Chapel Brow past the premises close to the time of the incident.

"They were seen on a local business' camera and she appears to have blonde hair and the pair could be in their 50s or 60s.

"There are 10 to 12 potential witnesses who were walking next to the shop at this time."
