Residents in Leyland whose lives have been blighted by anti-social behaviour have been asked to take the lead in tackling the problem.
Householders living near Worden Park say there's been a growing problem of criminal damage. Cars have been vandalised and wing mirrors been kicked off by vandals.

Now people living in Parkgate Drive have been sent a letter from the neighbourhood policing team asking them to park their cars on their drives, keep their security lights on between 9pm and 11.30pm and remove 'instant ammunition' such as rubbish bins.

PCSO Lee Tickle said it was vital the police and public worked together in reducing the temptation for opportunist crime.

He said: "We are using a pro-active approach to try and prevent crimes from happening. We have stepped up patrols in the area, as well as additional patrols at the weekend targeting local youths drinking alcohol and causing anti-social behaviour.

"By asking for these measures we want to remove the temptation for them on their way home.

"I can understand residents wanting to park on their own street, but at the same time we are hoping they will work in partnership with us."
