Hammer attack in Leyland

A man has been charged following a hammer attack in Farington.
Police were called to an incident shortly after midnight on Saturday, November 15, opposite the Rose and Crown pub on Stanifield Lane.

On arrival officers found two people injured both from the local area.

An 18-year-old woman had allegedly been punched in the left eye and a 22-year-old man was reportedly hit on the back of the head with a hammer.

He was taken to Chorley and South Ribble District General Hospital with a laceration to the back of his head.

On Monday, November 17, Anthony Oliver, 27, of Hough Lane, Leyland appeared at Chorley Magistrates, charged with a assault by beating and assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray.
