Plans have been submitted to build new accommodation for the elderly on land in Leyland.
Developers Limetree Real Estates, who are based in Nottingham, have submitted a planning application to build a 10 bedroom, two-storey building on land off Mill Lane.

David Morris, a director of Limetree, said that the development would provide much-needed independent living accommodation for the elderly in the area.

He added: "At the moment we are trying to get planning permission to build a small 10 bedroom property for a healthcare partner.

"It has been proven that there is a real need for the service in the community and the land we have applied to build on fits the bill.

"Limetree Real Estates help find and develop land for end users and if we get planning permission we could be on site by the end of the year and work would be finished before the middle of 2009.

"All of the funding is in place and we are ready to go. I would be very happy to speak to residents about this project as we feel that the development would be a benefit to the whole community."
