Desperate residents living under the shadow of the Farington waste site have been dealt a new double blow.
In a move described as 'the straw that will break the camel's back' a further application has been put in for a £120,000 wind turbine scheme on the controversial site.

And Lancashire County Council, the joint developers with Global Renewables of the £40m waste technology park, has rejected calls to buy people's homes which have been severely devalued by the building.

The double bombshell was dropped on fuming residents at a stormy community liaison meeting on Monday night with local councillors and representatives of both developers also present.
