Pint-sized workers up for the challenge

These young pupils got a proper taste of the working world when they were chosen for a business venture trip.

The year nine students from Balshaw’s CE High School took a tour of NSG Environmental in Buckshaw Village, who provide solutions for nuclear waste.

The 12 children learnt about the industry, team work and the importance of meeting deadlines. After this, they were whisked off to Rock FM in Preston to produce a radio show for the business. which they were asked to design, write and record in just an house.

A spokesperson for the school said: “All pupils thoroughly enjoyed their experience and have gained a better understanding of the world of work.”
