Strictly Come Dancing - The Live Tour 2012

I’ve always wanted to be a Strictly Come Dancing judge. This week, my prayers were answered.

Strictly Come Dancing - The Live Tour rocked up at Manchester’s MEN Arena, with all of the glitter, sequins, kicks and flicks you’d expect. And so much more.

Gracing the stage for this year’s show were reigning champ Harry Judd, runner-up Chelsee Healey, and faves Jason Donovan and Robbie Savage.

They were joined by Anita Dobson, Nancy Dell’Olio, swimmer Mark Foster and their Strictly professionals for a foot-tapping, hand clapping good time.

The show sees each couple perform two routines before the panel of Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood, who proceed to provide a mixture of praise, put-downs and cheap innuendos.

All of which were fab-u-lous.

Strictly die-hards would recognise Chelsee’s famous air-hostess quick step which was even more impressive in the flesh.

Reigning champ Harry responded to the woos of the audience with his Argentine tango which was even sharper and more dramatic than on the television screen.

And the glamorous Nancy, well, walked around a bit.

Sometimes she didn’t even do that.

A few group numbers ensured there was plenty of chance for skimpy outfits and Len, Bruno and Craig got up for a dance of their own.

The audience took their place as judges and had their say on who should be crowned the evening’s champ by texting in their votes.

In a city like Manchester there was only going to be one winner, with their very own Chelsee knocking Harry off the top spot to scoop the coveted glitter ball - the first time of the tour.

It might have helped that her entire family were sitting in the audience.

Whatever your thoughts on the television show, I challenge you to stay seated for the night.

From me, it’s a great big 10.

Strictly Come Dancing - The Live Tour finishes in Belfast on February 24
