A 67-year-old Leyland man has denied making and possessing indecent images of children and animals.

John Henry Davies, of Windermere Avenue in Farington, is charged with 13 offences, including possessing 100 pornographic films of people performing sexual acts with dogs and horses.

He appeared at South Ribble Magistrates Court and pleaded not guilty to all of the charges.

The images have been described as grossly offensive, disgusting or otherwise of an obscene character.

Davies is also accused of making indecent photographs of children, from levels one to four, between January 2010 and January 2011.

He has been remanded on unconditional bail, and is due to appear before Leyland magistrates on April 26.
