‘Save’ and ‘rescue’ are key terms in the computer world, but an IT firm has stepped out to help a ‘save and rescue’ team of a very different nature.

Leyland-based HW Technology, a branch of the national Haines Watts Group, has presented the Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue team with a generous donation of £600.

Directors Mark Tunstall and Alex Pimperton said: “As a local company, we set aside funds for local charities and community causes each year.

“We are both keen on the great outdoors and we’re acutely aware of the need to support such organisations as Mountain Rescue.

“We know they have limited financial resources but do such a fantastic job, so we decided to nominate them as our charity last year.”

Mountain rescue team member Ed Dowcra who, along with colleagues, is on call 24/7 throughout the year, explained: “As a voluntary organisation that receives no guaranteed funding, we are reliant on donations and are therefore very grateful for this donation from HW Technology.

“Donations of this kind nature allow the team to
continue to operate and provide a 365-day Mountain Search and Rescue service, saving lives in wild and remote places.”
