Police are still trying to establish what lead to the carbon monoxide leak which killed Leyland mother and daughter Kelly Webster and Lauren Thornton.
The pair died after suffering carbon monoxide poisoning whilst on a private boat on Lake Windermere over Easter, which was owned by Kelly’s fiancé, Matthew Eteson.
Cumbria police say the investigation is still ongoing into ‘the exact reasons for the escape of carbon monoxide into the boat.’
DCI Bob Qazi said: “Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deaths and this includes all aspects of any mechanical failure upon the boat.
“Detailed examination of equipment is ongoing and, in partnership with the Marine Accident Investigation Branch, the exact reasons for the escape of carbon monoxide into the boat will be ascertained.
“The question of any criminal liability will be determined once these examinations are completed.
“Police can confirm no persons have been arrested in connection with the deaths.”
