Bosses have reported a bumper year for Exact Abacus – the eCommerce software and outsourcing service providers.
The Chorley-based operation, which employs around 90 people at its facilities in Matrix Park, Buckshaw Village, has seen strong demand from start-ups and SMEs for outsourced fulfilment services in 2015.
As a result it has been able to grow the number of clients by 104 per cent.
That means an 80 per cent year-on-year increase in shipment volumes on behalf of its client. Exact Abacus is a leading provider of end-to-end business software solutions for multi-channel retailers and distributors.
Its flagship 3EX.NET platform is developed on leading-edge Microsoft .NET technologies and is supported by a team of more than 45 developers, support engineers and consultants.
The outsourcing services are fulfilment order management and call centre activities, employing a further 45 staff.
Exact Abacus report that of its new clients, there has been strong growth in export markets.
Companies based in Thailand, USA, Australia and Singapore have been the main source of the 12 per cent export-client growth over th epast 12 months.
New clients include merchandising for YouTubers such Crabstickz and Carrie Hope Fletcher, indie board-game manufacturer Big Potato, and USA-based sports technology products distributor Clever Training.
All of this has resulted in a positive revenue performance for Exact Abacus.
Its outsourcing divisions are reporting revenues in excess of £1m for the first time in its 30-year history.
A spokesman said: “The company hopes to capitalise on this in 2016 with completion of a new build 10,800 sq/ft facility next door to the current premises to accommodate the additional demand.
“This is on course to launch later this month.”
