A family-run printers in Chorley is changing its name this week.

The long established Pronta Print on Cottham Street will be offering the same quality it has always done under its current name of The Print Quarter.’ Thursday’s re-launch comes 28 years after Geoff and Valerie Bailey first started the printers in 1983.

Their two hard-working daughters Julia Gaudie and Claire Brabin later joined the business and it’s been all hands on deck ever since.

Eldest daughter Julia said: “It’s a team effort. Pronta Print has always been a customer experience-driven business and we always go the extra mile to make sure we get everything done.

“All of us in the family work very hard - it’s a 60 hour week for all of us and never nine til five. Together we’re a dynamic team with bags of enthusiasm for what we do.

“We’re now a completely independant company as The Print Quarter and we’re able to provide a service for businesses of all sizes. From individual business cards for consultants working on their own to full exhibitions for national companies, we can do it.

“We also have a branch in Southport and we took over Pronta Print in Bolton in 2007 so we cover a large area.

“We also have a website now so we’re looking to build up a bigger web presence.”

Their father Geoff first started in the printing industry as an apprentice and then went on to work at the Liverpool Daily Post and Echo.

But in 1983, he took the plunge and start his printing business in Chorley.

Julia explains: “It really was a big risk for him to start his own business but he went for it and opened Pronta Print. My mum has a background in textiles at a consultancy business, so she had many years of commercial experience.

“My sister Claire also has an integral role in the business, dealing with the day to day operations. As sisters we are very close but working together means we have to have a special understanding. It really is sisters doing it for themselves!

“All four of us bring a different skills set to the business which all compliment each other and we’re all pulling in the same direction. For us, it’s all about customer satisfaction.”
