Police investigating the theft of an elderly woman’s purse have released a CCTV image of two people they would like to trace.

The 84-year-old woman went to pay for her shopping at Morrisons in Leyland, when she realised her purse had been taken from her handbag.

The theft took place between 1.30pm and 2pm on Friday, February 5 at the supermarket on Olympian Way.

PC Lee Tickle, from Chorley police, said: “We are keen to trace the two people pictured in the CCTV image in connection with the theft and I would urge anyone who recognises them or has any information that could assist with our enquiries to contact us.”
