Talks are underway to transform a gasometers site in Chorley into a muliti-million pound cinema complex with restaurants, bars and a hotel.
K C Suri, managing director of Reel Cinemas, has revealed that the family entertainment centre could be open as early as 2015.
His company, which already runs 15 cinemas across the country, is in talks with developers Barnfield Construction and Chorley Council about their plans for the site in Bengal Street.
They include demolishing the gasometers, which date back to the 1930s, to make way for a multi-screen cinema complex.
Mr Suri said he firmly believes that cinemas are important within town centres and provide a hub for the community.
In the past his company has worked with the likes of Nando’s, Frankie and Benny’s and Pizza Hut.
