Have you got the X-factor?

Do you have the X-factor?

Singers, dancers, comedians, magicians, jugglers… and anybody else who has a talent for performing, is invited to audition for the Mayor of South Ribble's annual Search for a Star competition.

The borough's biggest talent show will see one lucky performer walking away with a 200 cash prize as well as the prestigious honour of being crowned the 2011 winner.

Auditions are being held at South Ribble Banqueting Suite in Leyland on Thursday, 15 February – and everyone with a talent is invited to take part.

Mayor David Suthers will sit on the judging panel and help pick the finalists who will perform in front of a packed audience at the grand final on Friday, April 15 at South Ribble Banqueting Suite.

All proceeds from ticket sales will go to the Mayor's charity fund which supports good causes locally.

Coun Suthers, said: "Anybody who thinks they can put on a good show should come to audition for us next month. It doesn't matter what your talent is, as long as it can be performed safely on a stage then you are welcome to come and have a go.

"This event has been popular for several years now and we have unearthed a wealth of local talent, including some top class singers and dancers.

"The competition is great fun both for the audience and those taking part. Who needs the X-Factor and Britain's Got Talent when you've got South Ribble's Search for a Star?"

No professionals or past winners are eligible to enter. Artists may use
