Father Christmas and stars of television’s Hollyoaks drew the crowds to the first Christmas fair at Legacy Rainbow House in Mawdesley.

More than 300 people attended Saturday’s event, with many having photographs taken and chatting to actors James Sutton (John Paul McQueen), Anna Passey (Sienna Blake) and Nick Rhys (Lockie Campbell).

Children were entertained by Frozen’s Princess Elsa and received a gift from Father Christmas, while adults enjoyed music from Red Admiral Music Academy, singer Doug Larby and DJ Steve Fisher.

There were more than 25 stalls selling jewellery, toys, cakes and other items, while volunteers from the Women’s Institute served drinks.

The Christmas tree lights were switched on to launch the festive season at Legacy Rainbow House.

Carole Cochrane, the charity’s chief executive, said: “We are delighted with the success of our first Christmas fair, which raised much-needed funds for Rainbow House and awareness of the importance of the services we provide for more than 65 families receiving over 250 hours of conductive education each week.”
