Children from a Leyland school are helping to tackle speeding traffic on the town’s roads.

Pupils from St James’ School, Moss Side, joined forces with police officers to explain to motorists about the dangers of driving too quickly.

The 33 10-year-old pupils helped officers with speed checks on nearby Slater Lane.

A total of 22 drivers were stopped for exceeding the 20mph speed limit.

Once stopped, the drivers were asked to speak with the youngsters who told them about the serious consequences that driving too quickly can have.
