A round-up of this week’s court listings.

A man has admitted to driving in Leyland without due care and attention, and whilst using a mobile phone. Thomas James Murphy, 25, from Belfry Close, Euxton, had five points added to his licence. He must also pay an £80 fine, a £20 victim surcharge, and £85 in costs.

A speeding driver has admitted to two offences. Anthony Richard Bromley, 23, of Western Drive, Leyland, pleaded guilty to breaking a 30mph limit in Burscough. Three points were added to his licence, and he must pay costs of £85. In a separate case, he admitted to driving faster than a 50mph limit in Freckleton. For that offence, three points were added to his licence, he was fined £160, and must pay a victim surcharge of £20 and court costs of £85.

A 39-year-old has pleaded guilty to speeding in Chorley Lane, Charnock Richard. Andrew Ian Pilkington, from Young Avenue, Leyland, was fined £65 and made to pay a £20 victim surcharge and £85 in costs. Three points were added to his licence.

A man has been banned from driving for 14 days after breaking a 50mph speed limit. Elliot Jamison, 25, from Meadowland Close, Farington Moss, pleaded guilty to speeding in Freckle ton. He was fined £160 and must also pay a victim surcharge of £20 and court costs of £85.

A man who drove without the relevant insurance or licence must pay a total of £811. The case of Mark Lancaster, 41, from Springfield Road, Leyland, was proved in his absence. He was caught in Farington Avenue, Leyland, and has been banned from driving for six months. He was also fined £660 and must pay a £66 victim surcharge and £85 in costs.

Five points have been added to a speeding driver’s licence. Tony Jeffears, 39, of Alder Close, Leyland, pleaded guilty to breaking a 30mph limit in Walton-le-Dale. He was fined £135 and must pay a victim surcharge of £20 and costs of £85.
