A round-up of this week’s court listings.

A man has been fined £220 for using a mobile phone whilst driving. The case of Nadeem Aziz, 37, from Royal Avenue, Leyland, was proved in his absence. Three points were added to his licence, and he must also pay a victim surcharge of £22 and costs of £85.

A man has been fined £660 for failing to give information to police about a driver alleged to have committed an offence. Nicholas David Murray, 30, from Slater Lane, Leyland, has also been banned from driving for 12 months. The case was proved in his absence at court, and he has also been ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £66 and costs of £85.

A man has been fined £295 for breaking a 30mph speed limit. Andrew Charles Bailey, 49, from Heatherleigh, Leyland, pleaded guilty. Four points were added to his licence, and he must also pay a victim surcharge of £30 and costs of £85.

A man has had five points added to his licence after driving faster than a 30mph speed limit. Adam Corea, 45, from Quins Croft, Leyland, pleaded guilty. He was fined £290, and was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £29 and court costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

A speeding driver has been fined £45. Deborah Marie Gray, 46, from Leadale Road, Leyland, admitted to breaking a 30mph speed limit. Three points were added to her licence, and she must also pay a victim surcharge of £20 and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

A woman has been fined £145 for driving faster than a 30mph speed limit. Helen Margaret Newbury, 35, from Brantwood Drive, Leyland, admitted to the offence. She was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and court costs of £85, and three points were added to her licence.
