A special music festival is taking place around Leyland next week – similar to the summer’s smash hit Leyland Live event.

Leyland Christmas will kick off the festive celebrations in pubs, restaurants and cafes on Friday, November 30, and will feature acoustic, jazz, rock and folk performances from singers and bands.

There will also be a dance element this time round, and organiser Nigel Stewart is delighted with the line-up.

He said: “For Leyland Live, we had 12 venues taking part in the town centre, and this time, there are 15.

“It was such a success that more people wanted to get on board for the Christmas version, which is great.

“It promises to be another great night, with 45 appearances throughout the evening in the town centre and the Leyland Cross area.

“It’s free entry, no wristbands or tickets are needed, so people can just turn up and have a good time.”

Entertainment will start on a mobile stage on Hough Lane from 3.30pm, including a choir, dance troops, street gymnasts and rap artists.

The live music will then take place in venues across the town from 8pm.
