Members of Leyland Round Table presented a cheque for £5,000 to the Neonatal Unit at Royal Preston Hospital.

The donation will help the unit to buy a state-of-the-art ‘Early Signs Monitor’.

Matron Joanne Smith gave members a tour of the Neonatal Unit so they could see first-hand the work carried out by staff.

All of the Leyland Round Table members agreed it was a very worthwhile cause.

Member Brian King said: “It was heart-warming to see how much care, professionalism and dedication there is from all of the neonatal team.”

Leyland Round Table raises all of its charity monies through the annual bonfire and firework display held on November 5 each year at Worden Park in Leyland.
