Big turn-out on the most solemn day

Waiting for Video...

Members of the community joined the Mayor of South Ribble, Coun Dorothy Gardner, and her consort Melvyn Gardner in the annual Walk of Witness through Leyland on Good Friday.

Organised by Churches Together in Leyland, the walk, which was graced with glorious sunshine, started outside the Leyland Fish and Chip shop near Tesco on Church Road at 10am.

Tim Sullivan carried the cross on the walk around the town and back towards St Andrew’s Parish Church on Worden Lane.

The walk was followed by a service at the church.
