Body of man found in Leyland

The body of a man was discovered in undergrowth next to a public footpath.

A member of the public made the grim find close to the River Lostock in Leyland at 1.50pm on Tuesday, between Cowling Lane and Schleswig Way.

The body is believed to be that of a 32-year-old local man but formal identification has yet to take place. A police spokesman said there appeared to be nothing suspicious.

* We're planning to do a tribute in next week's Guardian. Do you know the identity of the man? Contact the Guardian on 01257 264911 or send tributs to email christopher.maguire@lep.co.uk
