Plans to build a large convenience store in Leyland have been granted planning permission.

The future of the former petrol station site on the corner of Canberra Road and Turpin Green Lane has been in question for years, as numerous planning applications have been put forward to build a shop.

The most recent plans were sent to South Ribble Council by developer 3639 Ltd in December, and despite residents complaining about the scale of the building, they have now been given the green light.
