Couple accused of benefit fraud

A man and a woman from Leyland are to appear in court to face charges of benefit fraud.

Edward Rimmer, of Manor House Close, in Leyland, has been accused of failing to tell council chiefs about a change in his circumstances which allegedly affected his benefits.

He is s accused of not informing South Ribble Council regarding his housing benefit for 18 months. He will be dealt with on July 14 in Leyland.

* In a separate case Catherine Wilding, of Clayton Avenue, in Leyland, is due in court next week to face claims she failed to tell the council she was working.

She is accused of not informing South Ribble Council about a change in circumstances. The case will be heard at Leyland on Wednesday.
