Cyclist seriously injured in collision in Leyland
A MAN in his eighties is in hospital with serious injuries after a collision in Leyland today (Wednesday).
The man was cycling along Preston Road towards the railway station at around 2pm on November 7 when he was involved in a collision with a silver Citroen C1 on the mini roundabout.
The male driver of the Citroen was uninjured, however the cyclist has been taken to Royal Preston Hospital where he is said to be in a serious condition.
The road was closed for around two hours to allow collision investigators to carry out their work.
Sergeant Dave Hogarth said: “An investigation is now underway; if anybody witnessed this collision then I would ask them to contact police.”
