Downpour floods GP surgery
A doctor's surgery near Bamber Bridge has flooded - although it remains open to patients.
Clayton Brook Surgery was hit by flooding over the weekend after the heavy rains and led to the temporary closure of the ground floor.
Patients are being seen in the upstairs of the building.
Alternative arrangements are being made for patients who cannot access the stairs to be seen at Clayton Brook Clinic next door.
Peter Tinson, associate director of commissioning and patient choice at NHS Central Lancashire, said: "We are trying to keep any disruption of services at the practice to a minimum and patients are being seen at the surgery as their arranged appointment times.
"We expect the downstairs of the surgery to re-open next week following an assessment, clean and repair of the damaged areas."
If patients registered with the practice require a GP out of normal practice hours then they can contact the surgery on 01772 313950 or visit www.centrallancashire.nhs.uk
