Festival fun heads to Worden Park

Details about what’s in store at Worden Park during the Leyland Festival weekend have been revealed.

Live music, dancing displays and craft demonstrations will all help to attract people to the town on July 7 and 8, following on from the vehicle and float parade through Hough Lane.

The line-up of the Leyland Festival Committee has also been announced, and includes representatives from Fishwick Buses, Leyland Trucks, New Progress Housing Association, Lancashire Probation Services, and APC Leyland, as well as business leaders, South Ribble Council and the British Commercial Vehicle Museum.

Coun Phil Smith, the council’s Cabinet member for regeneration, leisure and healthy communities, said: “It’s great to see such a strong partnership of people representing both the public and private sectors working together to organise the Leyland Festival.

“Last year’s event attracted thousands of people to Leyland and I’m sure it will be even bigger and better this year.”
