Thousands of visitors flocked to the annual Cuerden Valley Park family fun day on Sunday – and as the sun shone, they were treated to a whole host of entertainments.
Organisers reckon it is their best attended fun day since they began nine years ago.
Events manager Les Cryer said: “It went very, very well. We’re guessing up to 4,500 people came. We think it’s the biggest, and we’ve had nothing but positive feedback from everyone.”
Attractions included zorb balls, birds or prey, Lostock Hall Brass Band, Newfoundland working dogs, Infinity cheerleaders from Whittle-le-Woods, North West Reptile Club and the Rare Breeds Survival Trust.
“The birds of prey were very well received, very popular,” said Les. “They did two flying demonstrations involving the public.”
