Progress Housing Group has launched its annual regional garden competition for green-fingered tenants this week.

More than £500 in prizes is up for grabs in a competition that grows with popularity each year.

Anyone living in a Progress Housing Group or New Progress Housing Association can enter the competition, with categories to suit all types of gardens.

Categories include containers, window boxes and hanging baskets; balconies, yards and gardens; communal areas; and vegetable or fruit patches.

There will also be a kids’ sunflower competition, with the tallest sunflower being awarded a prize.

The closing date for entry is Friday, June 13, with judging taking place in July.
