Hit and run in a scooter

A pram carrying a five-week-old baby was hit by a mobility scooter in Bamber Bridge.

The incident happened on Sergeant Street at around 2.50pm last Tuesday .

A woman was pushing her daughter when the pushchair was struck by a woman on a mobility scooter.

The baby was taken to hospital to be checked out by medics but is not thought to have suffered any serious injuries.

The woman on the scooter did initially stop to see if the baby was ok but soon left the scene and police are now asking for her to contact them.

PC Roy Molyneux from the Road
Policing Unit said: “I would also appeal direct to the woman driving the scooter to ring the police.

“We need to speak to her in order to resolve this matter.”

Anyone who saw the incident should pass on the information to Lancashire Police on 101 quoting log reference LC-20121030-0754.
