Leyland Transport Festival is big hit
All roads led to Leyland at the weekend for another hugely successful transport festival.
Thousands of visitors descended on Leyland for a series of themed events, including a fire engine pull and vintage motor parade.
The Leyland Homecoming Festival was organised for the first time last year, and was so successful it is now set to be an annual event.
It rose from the ashes of the much-loved Leyland Festival, which was axed in 2001.
The British Commercial Vehicle Museum was at the hub of a lot of the activities and a children's entertainer was on on hand.
A traditional brass band entertained the crowds in Hough Lane and there were even tours of Leyland Trucks available.
Stephen Bullock, of the British Transport Museum, said: "The weekend went brilliantly and the weather was kind to us.
"We had 179 vehicles in the parade which was fantastic as we had initially planned for 110. We were bowled over by the response and the parade went really, really well.
"The Leyland Society gathering was a rip-roaring success with 63 vehicles involved – including one that had come from as far away as America.
"Leyland can be very pleased with itself for making the event such a success that drew in visitors from Scotland and Wales."
