Man assaulted on train
British Transport Police detectives are appealing for information after a 47-year-old man was assaulted on-board a train between Blackpool North and Leyland.
The incident happened at around 7.50pm on Saturday, September 15, as two groups of men travelled in the same carriage of the train.
DC Craig Halpin said: “During the journey the victim, who was travelling back from Blackpool to Bolton, was singled out by one of the groups and seriously assaulted causing him to be knocked unconscious.
“As a result of the assault he suffered broken ribs, a black eye and various cuts to his face and body.
“The carriage and the train was extremely busy at the time of the incident and I am now appealing to anyone who has information about the assault to come forward.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
