Mark joins elite in new Batman film

A Leyland martial arts expert turned movie star is set to appear on the silver screen after filming the new Batman movie.

Mark Strange, who has been practicing martial arts for 20 years, has spent the last few weeks working on the new Batman Begins film at Shepperton Studios in Middlesex, taking the role of a Shadow Fighter.

He said: "Working on the Batman film was a great experience and I made plenty of great contacts while I was working.

"I was in the role of a Shadow Warrior, part of an elite team sent to combat Batman, who is played by Christian Bale.

"I really enjoy working on the movies and hope to be involved in quite a few new projects in the future."

Mark, 30, has previously worked with Kung Fu great Jackie Chan in the films Medallion and Twins Effect, as well as working with Hollywood superstar Wesley Snipes in the vampire flick Blade Two.

He added: "It's great to have been able to work with Jackie, who is a legend in Kung Fu films, and working on the Blade film was absolutely brilliant."

As well as working on major blockbuster movies, Mark is continuing work on his own action film Displaced, which is being directed by Lancashire-based director Martin Holland.

Mark is holding classes in Kung Fu and Chinese kick boxing on Wednesday evenings, from 7pm, at Leyland Leisure Centre.
