Talented musicians are being sought to perform as part of this year’s Leyland Festival.

The Creative Network, which has organised acts to entertain festival-goers at Worden Park in the past, and also organises the Leyland Live events, is looking for anyone interested in taking part in this year’s festival.

Musicians will be staged outside the Worden Arts Centre on Saturday, June 21, and the Network is looking for around six acts (any style will be considered) who would be interested in playing 45 minute sets between noon and about 5pm.

Email info@creatives-network.co.uk with the subject line ‘Leyland Festival’ to register your interest.

Meanwhile, the Leyland Festival Committee is calling on youngsters to design a logo for this year’s special event, which has the theme of ‘World Wide’.

To allow as many schools as possible the opportunity to take part, the entry deadline has been extended to February 28.

The competition aims to offer young people the opportunity to be involved in the Festival and to show their talent as designers.

The logo will be used on the festival marketing materials so the winner will see their design on flyers and banners across South Ribble.

To find out more about the School Festival Logo Competition, volunteering at the festival or taking part, contact the Festival Committee by calling 01772 625441 or email festival@southribble.gov.uk.
