Donkey rides, a bouncy castle, laser quest and magic shows are just some of the attractions at the first ever My Leyland Fun Day, which is being held in the town this Friday, July 25.

Organised by the users of the Moss Side Playing Fields and South Ribble Council’s Leyland My Neighbourhood Forum, the day will also include a free nature hunt, sports sessions, face painting and games.

The fun will take place between 11am and 3pm on the Moss Side Playing Fields in Moss Side Way, Leyland.

The users of the fields, such Leyland Warriors rugby club, Leyland Tigers football teams, the Ulnes Walton Bridleways Association and the Barratt and Jays Angling Club are looking at making improvements at the site, and want to take this opportunity to invite members of the community to see the progress and enjoy using the site themselves.

Better sports pitches, bridleways, car parking provision and enhancing the nature at the site are all in the pipeline.

Some improvements to to pathways have already been carried out, and a name change is also on the cards soon.

Leyland police will also be at the event with security giveaways and free bike marking for residents.
