Leyland’s newsest sweet shop was packed full of excited children at its official opening this weekend.

Grandad Jim’s Traditional Sweet Shoppe opened its doors on Chapel Brow on Saturday.

Mayor and mayoress of South Ribble, Jim and Susan Marsh, were special guests for owners Mary and Andrew Dickinson.

The store, which boasts 150 types of sweets as well as a special fudge counter, is named after Andrew’s grandad Jim, who lived in Leyland all his life and had a soft spot for humbugs.
