Plans to build a new luxury housing estate at the site of a former grass machinery merchants in Leyland are set to get the go-ahead.
A planning application submitted by Eccleston Homes Limited to build 14 four and five-bedroomed houses on the former Burrows machinery site on Wigan Road have been recommended to get approval.
The proposals, which are for an estate which will be accessed by electronic gates, will go before Chorley’s development control committee this week.
Lancashire County Council has requested that, if the scheme is approved, a contribution to improve two bus stops and to provide a new footpath along Wigan Road should be put forward by the developer.
However, Chorley Council planning officers have noted that “the works on which the contribution would be spent are not considered to be essential to make the development acceptable in planning terms”.
