The future of a shop’s premises licence hangs in the balance after the police called for it to be reviewed following a fight between a member of staff and a customer.
Police have called for Singh Stores in Bannister Drive, Leyland, to have its licence revoked following concerns over “the management of the premises and compliance with legislation.”
The store will be hauled before South Ribble Council’s licensing panel on January 9 when a decision will be taken.
A report to go before the meeting states: “The premises came to the attention of the police following a report of a fight involving a member of staff and a customer.
“The police state that the circumstances surrounding this fight and subsequent attempts to secure evidence, demonstrated an undermining of the prevention of crime and disorder objective.
“The police also state that they have concerns regarding the effective management and retail sale of alcohol to vulnerable persons in the community.”
