Youngsters at Sarah’s Ark Nursery in Wigan Road, Leyland, have been visited by Children in Need’s Pudsey Bear and Cbeebies presenter Cerrie Burnell.
Nursery manager Sarah Bradshaw said they had been treated to the special visit after raising £250 for Children in Need, and learning the Cbeebies ‘Jump Up and Dance’ routine.
They sent their entry form to the BBC in November after the event, and welcomed their visitors last Wednesday.
Sarah said: “We entered a children in need competition when it was Children in need Week.
“We had to learn the Cbeebies ‘Jump Up and Dance’ routine and have a party and perform the dance to our friends.
“During the week we did lots of different things to raise money for children in need and we all did very well.
“Our pre-school children learnt the dance and held a Pudsey party, after the party we sent our entry to BBC Children in Need.
“I was very pleased to announce that we had won a visit from Cerrie from Cbeebies, we are all very proud and very excited.”
Cbeebies presenter Cerrie Burnell and the production crew turned out in force at the nursery and the children made a video dancing with Cerrie and Sarah.
Louise Whelan from Cbeebies said: “Despite the terrible weather conditions we were delighted to be at Sarah’s Ark after the great competition entry and the raising of £250 for Children in Need.”
Frank McMahon, director at Leyland Golf Club, which neighbours the nursery, said: “It’s a shame the course was closed on Wednesday, otherwise Pudsey could have had a free round of golf with us!”
The CBeebies crew made a video of the children on Wednesday after they had been creating drawings and had their faces painted ready for Pudsey and Cerrie.
Sarah added: “We had a fab day at the nursery and I am very proud of all the children and staff.”
