Road closed due to fallen tree

A road has been closed in South Ribble due to a fallen tree.

Part of the A59 Preston New Road at Salmesbury has been closed between the junction with Vicarage Lane and up to the traffic lights.

Police are on the scene with a diversion in place taking vehicles onto Vicarage Lane, onto Cuerden Lane and then back round to rejoin the A59.

Council officers are in the process of removing the tree but have warned it may take some time.
