The 10 finalists of this year’s Search for a Star competition have now been announced.
The acts, ranging from 10 to 70-years-old, are Peter Brown (banjo playing comedian), Connor Banks (singer and guitar), Hannah Gorge (singer and guitar), Chloe McLaughlin (singer), Taylor Green (singer and guitar), duo Lucy and Lila Gardner (singers), Millie-Mae Hill (singer), duo Elle Mercer and Annabelle Pike (singers), mother and daughter Michelle and Jennifer Stevens (singers) and Lauryn Flore (singer).
Each finalist saw off strong competition during the February auditions and will now have the chance to win the prestigious honour of being crowned the 2014 winner, along with a £200 cash prize donated by competition sponsors C & W Berry Ltd.
The group will battle it out at the grand final taking place at South Ribble Banqueting Suite, at the Civic Centre in Leyland, on Friday, April 4.
Each act will perform once at the final which will start at 7.15pm.
Tickets for the evening are £5 each and all proceeds go to the Mayor’s Charity Fund which this year supports St Catherine’s Hospice, Baby Beat and Hope For Justice.
Mayor of South Ribble, Coun Dorothy Gardner, said: “I’m really looking forward to seeing some spectacular performances in the glittering final in April.
“All ten contestants are brilliant and I wish them all the best of luck for the final. It’s going to be difficult choosing a winner on the night!
“It would be great to see as many people supporting the acts as possible for what should be a very entertaining evening showcasing the talent in South Ribble, and of course raising money for three very worthy charities.”
