Shoe thief also stole household appliances

A 26-year-old man has pleaded guilty to stealing a pair of trainers and household appliances.

Lee Patrick Gorman, from Farrington Avenue, Leyland, took the shoes from Brantano’s in July last year.

He also pleaded guilty to stealing a £59.99 Vax Hoover from Argos in February this year; Persil detergent bottles, valued at £22.86 from the Co-op in January; and a £14.99 George Foreman Grill from B&M Bargains, also in January.

He appeared at Chorley Magistrate’s Court last week and was committed to prison for eight weeks concurrent, suspended for 12 months, for each offence.

During the next year, he is also ordered to have treatment for drug dependency by or under the direction of a doctor, and attend appointments with a probation officer.

He was not ordered to pay any costs.
