Shoppers in Leyland town centre are being invited to ‘call in’ to a number of independent shops and businesses through the use of new lamp-post banners.

The posters feature members of the Leyland Town Team to show the faces behind the names of successful local firms.

Chairman of the Town Team, Isobel Pickering, said: “The Town Team was established in early 2013 and is made up from a great group of businesses and community groups who are passionate about engaging with people, retailers, landlords, partners and community groups.

“South Ribble Council is always working alongside us trying to help the town and businesses improve and flourish, and with their help the new lamp-post banners have just been put up around Leyland.

“The main purpose of them is to show images of the ‘real’ business people in Leyland, and the message on the reverse of each banner is ‘Call in – we’re open’.

“The businesses shown are a just a small cross-section of the great retail and services that are on offer in Leyland.”

The posters feature Isobel, of Paces and Laces; Karen Swan from Peppermint Cottage; Jemma Lloyd of Solicitor Direct; Mark Croasdale from Haines Watts; Janet Grindrod of Poppy’s Florist, and Leyland Market.

They can be found on Hough Lane, Chapel Brow and Towngate.
