Lucky 13 head for top two universities after Runshaw

While it may be unlucky for some, the number 13 is seen as top class at Leyland’s Runshaw College.

That is the number of students who have been offered places at Oxford and Cambridge this year.

The squad was treated to a special lunch with college principal Kathy Passant to celebrate joining the nation’s cream of higher education.

Former Balshaw’s pupil Lucy Baehren has had an offer from Kings College, Cambridge.

Peter Jordan, Ryan Jenkinson and Ryan McIntyre are also bound for Cambridge.

Jacob Forshaw is hoping to take up a place at Worcester College, Oxford, while Josh Hannah and Lewis Ruks are looking forward to going to University College, Oxford.

Sarah James has been offered a place at Magdalen College, Oxford.

Hannah Pye is going to St Hugh’s, and Mark Welch is hoping to take up an offer of a place at Brazenose College, Oxford.

Daniel Bayliss is off to Trinity College, Oxford, Jack Ellis will go to Jesus College, Cambridge, while Hannah Keating hopes to go to Wadham College, Oxford.
