Police investigating reports that a man was taking photographs of teenage girls as they left a Leyland high school have arrested someone.
Patrols were increased around Academy@Leyland in Westfield Drive following reports of a suspicious-looking cyclist earlier this month.
PC David Gaskill told the Guardian last week: “A policing operation has been in place and on Thursday, October 16, a male was arrested in connection with the incidents.
“He is currently on bail pending further enquires.
“Contact has been maintained with all local schools and a high visibility operation has continued.
“We would like to reassure all parents that we take any potential safeguarding issue very seriously.
“Despite the arrest we encourage continued vigilance and ask people to please continue to report any suspicious activity by calling the non-emergency number, 101.”
